“Agriculture – Farming in the UK in 2023”
A talk by John Haffenden. John has his own farm and is Chairman of the Minnis Managers who are responsible for the Stelling Minnis common, and a Trustee of the Stelling Minnis Charitable Trust which acts for the owners of the common.

John was educated at Wye College and now specialises in seed production.
Around the turn of the millennium Guy Smith, a rising star within the NFU challenged farmers to educate the population on all matters concerning our businesses. His message was to “get on the parish council and write in your village magazine”. How can people possibly understand agriculture if they are not directly involved unless someone tells them….. I put myself forward for election and have written a monthly article in the village magazine ever since.
